Description from the seller

Superb double tea box made of walnut burl? In any case, crafted from noble wood with a carved mixing bowl.

When this box was made, tea was an expensive commodity, hence the cost of such objects. At that time, it was common to keep two different types of tea in a box like this and to mix them in the bowl to obtain a tea with each person's preferred taste.

Height 17 cm
Length 30.5cm
Depth 15.5 cm

The Caddy is sold as is with a beautiful patina, as one might expect with the age of the item.
However, a few issues should be noted; nearly all the corner baguettes are missing, there are areas lacking marquetry, and there is a chip on the base of the glass used for mixing. Like any object of this age, a cleaning is in order.
Look carefully at the photos, they serve as a description.
