A late Victorian Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society collecting box, circa 1880, presented in untouched, original condition. This example is of tin construction, a notably rarer variant when compared with the more commonly encountered wooden boxes of the period. The triangular form, original red-painted surface, and printed inscriptions reflect its intended use as a domestic collection box for missionary fundraising, designed to sit on a mantel or windowsill. Surface wear, paint loss, and patination are entirely consistent with age and prolonged use and should be regarded as part of its historical integrity. An appealing and increasingly scarce piece of 19th-century religious and social history, offering strong decorative presence and authentic Victorian character.
