Description from the seller
A 'flying pendulum' is a clock that uses a flying pendulum mechanism. A small metal ball, connected by a string, wraps around one brass rod, then turns away and repeats this on the other brass rod. The movement of the ball drives the escapement, which in turn powers the clock's gears and indicates the time.
The flying pendulum clock was invented and patented in 1883 by Adler Christian Clausen and J.C. Slafter in Minneapolis, U.S.A.
A beautiful clock and a true conversation piece.
Total height 50 cm
Weight 13.5 kg
The 8-day clock is protected by a square glass dome.
The watch is on a wooden console.
The watch has been checked by a watchmaker and is functioning well.
But a ball is an impure pendulum, and therefore the clock will never run exactly on time.
Small ball on a string can be adjusted at the top of the clock mechanism.
This is a reproduction made in China.
Werking is on YouTube.
The provided input is a URL to a YouTube Shorts video and does not contain any translatable text.
Clock comes with a winding key.
Kavel is shipped in two packages of 7 kg each (with the glass dome shipped separately), registered and insured, resulting in slightly higher shipping costs.
