AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

The history of the Gouda Zenith factory begins in 1749, when Pieter van der Want completed his apprenticeship as a pipe maker for the Gouda pipe makers' guild. This marked the start of a line of pipe manufacturers that would span eight generations from father to son. From the 1950s onward, it was the oldest still-operating pipe factory. This decorative plaque was made at the Zenith factory in Gouda between 1935 and 1970. During this period, ceramics in the Delft style were also part of the product range. The maker's mark of the Zenith pottery consists of a Z and G crossing each other, with a crown above.
The board is in good condition, with no chips, frittings, or hairlines. The image is indirectly derived from the painting 'The Drinker' by Frans Hals, who lived from 1582/1583 and died in 1666 in Haarlem. That painting hangs in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
The board is well-packaged for shipping.
