Two pendants: Orthodox travel cross (Russia), and filigree openwork cross (Central Europe) – 19th / early 20th century.
1. Orthodox travel cross in bronze, 19th century (Russia)
Bronze cast pectoral or travel cross, with narrative compartments in relief, depicting various scenes from the Christological cycle: Crucifixion in the center, saints and prophets in the side and upper panels, and an eschatological scene in the lower register.
Russian work, 19th century, typical of portable metal icon productions.
Antique patina, consistent wear.
Dimensions: 8.5 cm.
Openwork filigree cross, copper and brass, Central Europe, early 19th century
Decorative cross in copper and brass filigree, fully openwork, adorned with a geometric pattern with cut metal cabochons. Handcrafted, probably from Central Europe (Hungary / Slovakia), late 19th century.
Delicate craftsmanship of metallic braiding; slight patina from age.
Dimensions: 4.5 cm.
Good condition for both pieces, natural patinas, and signs of use consistent with age.
