Andrew McNeile Jones - No One Knows For Sure

Andrew McNeile Jones studied fine art at Ruskin School of Art, at Oxford University, in the 1980s. He then trained in film making, working in London as a producer and director for several years; he returned to painting full-time in the early 2000s. He now lives and works back in Oxford. In recent years he has exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists in London, the Royal Birmingham Society of Arts, at the Affordable Art Fairs, and in a number of other group shows. He has won several prizes, including first prize in the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries in 2022. His film making experience gave him a deep interest in lighting and its power to help tell a story, particularly when combined with set design and the creation of ‘tableaux’ which contain a narrative element. He now incorporates these ideas into his painting. This painting is made with the finest quality oil paints on a strong cotton canvas; it will be carefully packaged in a substantial custom-made cardboard box. It will arrive ready to hang.
