Wooden Roman steelyard balance dating to the 19th century (c. 1800–1850), in antique style from Italy, in good used condition with minor signs of aging, 30 cm wide by 3 cm deep and 3 cm high, and in working order.

Description
Old Roman balance scale with a wooden beam, complete and authentic, dating from the 19th century.
This traditional weighing instrument operated on the lever principle, with a movable counterweight and graduations engraved directly into the wood.
The scale shows a beautiful patina of use, evidence of its prolonged use. The incised marks (crosses, lines, and symbols) correspond to the different weighing points, according to the local units of the time.
Objects that are both functional at their origin and now highly sought after for decoration, especially in collections of antique tools or for rustic, industrial, or curiosity cabinet atmospheres.
