Sylvie Overheul studied at the art academy in Rotterdam.
Although she creates various works, the combination of aesthetics with subtle absurdity and humor is a clear characteristic.

As a portrait painter, she is now among the top in the Netherlands.
She was a semi-finalist in the honorable 'Artist of the Year 2026' election with her body of work.
And this year, Sylvie is ranked number 15 in the top 100 of the Gallery of contemporary artists.
She was also recently seen on Dutch television as a master painter in the program 'Sunken Masters'.
