Ancient Greek Daunian ceramic olla with broad flared mouth, arched handles and geometric black decoration, dating to the 6th–5th century B.C., measuring 29 by 31 cm, in good condition with rim nicks and some loss of decoration, acquired from a Swiss private collection in 1977 and sold from an auction house in 2023, with an authenticity certificate and a Spanish export license.

A beautiful daunian pottery olla with broad flared funnel mouth supported by a pair of hands rising from the shoulders of the discoid body, with arched handles and geometric black decoration. Neck decorated with vegetal motifs.; body decorated with horizontal friezes with spirals, dots, vines, and wavy lines; arched handles decorated with spirals and hands with stripes and dots. Base with circles, diagonal lines and plants.
Dimensions. 29,00 x 31,00 cm.
Condition: Nicks on the rim. The piece has lost part of its decoration throughout the body ( see pictures ). No restorations, body in good condition.
Provenance: Swiss Private Collection since 1977.
