Early medieval Limestone Pre-Romanesque Capital With Spanish Export License

Pre-Romanesque limestone capital formed by a rectangular upper area, with a flat molding ,and another molding in the lower part that follows the lines formed by the columns that would go under it. The fronts are decorated with a series of elements carved on the stone: a Greek cross with wide crossbars towards the outside with a line inside, flowers emerging from very simplified stems, schematized leaves, large pineapples located in the four corners and broad leaves with pointed edges. | Spanish Pre-Romanesque. ca 8th Century A.D. Dimensions: 28.5×47×34.5 cm / Weight: 65 kg. Condition : Surface wear and some chips on the edges. Material losses in one corner. Overall good condition. ( see pictures ) Provenance: Ex L.B. Private Collection - Barcelone, Spain. Since the 1970's. Important: Due to Summer holidays, Items sold at the end of July or August will be sent in September. - The piece includes authenticity certificate. The piece is in process of obtaining Spanish Export License renewal( Passport for European Union). This process can take between 2 and 4 weeks. - If the piece goes outside the European Union a new export license will be requested by us, This process can take beteen 1 and 2 months. According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union are subject to export taxes and will be added to the invoice, at the buyer's expense. These export fees are fixed on the final auction price and the tax rate is not applied directly on the total value of the item to be exported, but rather the different percentages by sections are applied to it: - Up to 6,000 euros: 5%./ From 6.001 to 60.000 euros: 10%. - Shipped with Insurance.
