A lovely antique very rare and extremely large Chinese porcelain teapot, which hold a stunning amount of 2 liters! Tea was one of the most priced possessions during the 17th century, and normal teapots from this period carries a fraction of that amount. This absurd large piece is decorated with a suiting central decoration of large panels with 100 Valuables, Vases, Censers, Books, Buddhist Treasures and Peonies in Landscapes executed in a nice underglaze blue and white. In the border a classical decoration of floral and geometrical patterns. An elegantly shaped ear and sturdy sprout, both decorated with clouds.
Handmade in Imperial China during the Qing Dynasty, late Kangxi period (ca. 1690-1700). Guaranteed original and of the stated period. Marked with double circles on the bottom.
Length: 27,0 centimeter, holding an excessive amount of 2 liters. Still good to use.
Condition: The teapot is in near perfect condition, a small glaze bite and minute wear only. The condition is carefully checked with strong UV-light and bright translucent white light.
