Amy Jade Winehouse (Southgate (London), September 14, 1983 - Camden (London), July 23, 2011) was a British jazz and soul singer. She became famous in the UK with her album Frank. In the rest of the world she became known with her album Back to Black with the hit singles Rehab and Back to Black. She collaborated with, among others, Mark Ronson and that gave her the big hit Valerie, a cover of a song from the band The Zutons. Winehouse was often in the news because of its alcohol and drug addiction. She was the first British to win five Grammy Awards.
