Large Cobalt Blue Blown-Glass Pendant Lamp with Wrought-Iron Frame – Mediterranean Artisan – Mid-20th Century
Description:
Beautiful hand-blown pendant lamp in deep cobalt-blue glass, formed with twisted ribs and enclosed in a hand-forged wrought-iron cage.
The lamp has a striking teardrop / onion shape, typical of Mediterranean artisan lighting (Italy, Spain, South of France, ca. 1950–1970).
The top includes its original iron crown and hanging system, which holds the bulb socket. The inner surface shows the characteristic twisted pontil swirl, confirming hand-blown production.
The combination of intense blue glass and aged iron gives a rich, atmospheric light — ideal for hallways, staircases, porches, or rustic interiors.
Condition:
– Glass in good vintage condition, minor surface marks from age
– Iron frame with authentic patina / oxidation
– Original wiring present but must be replaced before use
– No cracks or losses to the glass observed
