Leica MDa Rangefinder camera

Leica MDa in good condition. The camera functions, but the shutter speeds are not entirely accurate: many settings sound the same, except for a few fast speeds. Additionally, the leather on the back plate is missing. Replacement MDa leatherette is easily available.

The Leica MDa is a special variant within the M series. This model is derived from the Leica M4 but designed without a viewfinder or rangefinder. The MDa was intended for technical applications, scientific photography, documentation, and use with special setups such as repro and microscopes. Due to the absence of a viewfinder, the body is extra robust, quiet, and externally simple.

The mechanism inside is largely identical to that of the M4, ensuring that the MDa offers the same durable build quality and smooth operation. The shutter, transport lever, and film mechanism are classic Leica: solid, mechanical, and fully manual.
