Marein Konijn - Puddles on clay

This painting was created after a period of persistent rain, during which the fields in Northern Netherlands became completely submerged. The water remained, with no way to drain away. When the sun finally broke through, stunning reflections appeared on the clay filled with water. Among the shiny surfaces, a few blades of grass still poked up here and there.

This work is a painting from the series that stems from this subject. The tranquil landscapes invite you to pause for a moment and daydream — exactly that moment I wanted to capture in paint.
