Stylish handpainted Gouda Style Vase by Royal Goedewaagen in the Netherlands. (From 1984 the Factory Moved from Gouda to Nieuw- Buinen in Drehnte as more workers were available in this area) The Vase is painted with a decor called „Iris“ The model and decoration are based on the Art Nouveau and Art Deco Style Gouda pottery which was produced in the early 1920 by Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland and pottery „De Distel“ both of which were later acquiered by Goedewaagen. Iris is one of their collections and it’s stand for the „matt plate Art Deco“ Collection. Each piece in the „Iris“ Serie was Limited to only 999 pieces. For more than 400 years Royal Goedewaagen has been making earthware / Delft Blue and ceramics and are well known for their high quality for their ceramic works. The decoration is identical on both sides of the Vase and Features a symetrical decor of organic shapes painted in cream yellow, violet , reddish Brown , dark green, and dark Blue Colors, surrounded by gold- brown outlines against a cream white background. The neck and the bottom are painted black. The exterior surface is matt, not glossy. The inside of the Vase is glazed with the cream white background glaze. The Vase is signed at the bottom with a handpainted „Royal Goedewaagen“ mark and the classifications „Gouds Plateel“ (Gouda Style Pottery) and Handgeschilderd (handpainted). There is also a Model Number 437 and a Limited Series Number 81 from a total Number of 999 vases and a Painters signature (JM) Height: 25,5 cm Diameter Opening: 10 cm Diameter at thickest point: 16 cm Base Diameter: 9 cm Weight: 895 g A very stylish and modern Vase in classic Gouda Art nouveau / Art Deco Style which will Look Great in a variety of interiors.
