Description from the seller

Veil of the Unknown #03 - EA01

A veil, a breath, a secret.
The body falls silent, the skin becomes draped, and desire falls silent.
Under the silk, presence breathes — at the border of the sacred and the sensual.

This work explores the tension between appearance and concealment, where the mystery of the face becomes an inner mirror.

Seller's Story

Frank G. Alonso (Havana, 1972) is a Cuban-Spanish artist based in Arles. Trained in Madrid at the Higher School of Communication, Image and Sound (CEV) and at Metrópolis film school, he began his career as an assistant director and cameraman, collaborating with major figures in European cinema. In the early 2000s, he worked alongside Bertrand Fèvre (César 1989 for Chet’s Romance), Pedro Almodóvar (Talk to Her), and José Luis García Sánchez (The Green March). These experiences deeply shape his perception of the frame, silence, and rhythm — a cinematic imprint that he will carry throughout his entire visual approach. Since 2019, he has been directing the Atelier Alonso in Arles, a space dedicated to Fine Art printing and contemporary creation, where he produces his own works and supports other artists in their projects. His prints, signed and numbered by hand, are produced according to museum standards in a limited and certified edition. The universe of Frank G. Alonso explores the metaphysical aspect of the body and time through a visual language where light becomes speech and beauty, a form of silence. His works are part of private collections around the world — notably in France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Greece, and Portugal.
