Artist QUIK (Lin Felton) presents GRAFFITI CAN'T BE STOPPED, a mixed‑media piece executed on an official New York Subway plan, signed by hand, framed under glass, 80 × 60 cm, circa 2010–2012, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This exceptional piece is not just a canvas but an official MTA (New York Subway) map used as a support by the artist. It perfectly embodies the 'bubble' style and Quik's raw energy.
Visual Details: The artwork features a bold lettering in a purple gradient with pink splatters, topped with the iconic slogan 'GRAFFITI CAN'T BE STOPPED'. Circa 2010-2012. The piece was purchased directly from the artist and professionally framed. I no longer have photos of the back with the exact dating, but you can verify it if you ever wish to change the framing.
Visual Signature: It features the famous smiling character with a halo, an emblematic signature of Quik, drawn with fluid purple marker on the Brooklyn/Queens part of the map.
Ambiance: A sky blue spray work and black and pink dots tie the whole scene together, creating a dynamic contrast with the detailed mapping in the background.
Technical Characteristics
Artist: QUIK (Lin Felton)
Support: Original New York subway map framed under a rigid glass cover (secured with six rivets or attachment points).
Frame dimensions: 80 x 60 cm.
Condition: very good
Technique: Mixed (aerosol bomb, markers, typographic lettering).
More than just a painting, it's a collectible object. Quik is famous for having 'vandalized' the New York subway in the 1970s before becoming a star of international galleries. The text 'Graffiti Can't Be Stopped' at the top left recalls the historic struggle between artists and the city of New York.
The package will be well protected, sent with tracking, and delivered against signature.
