Description from the seller
Vintage Italian Silver-Plated Duck Serving Dish – Teghini Firenze (attributed)
Decorative vintage silver-plated serving dish in the shape of a mallard duck, featuring an integrated recessed serving area. The piece is made of metal with silver plating (silver plate), not solid silver.
Based on the distinctive design, proportions, sculptural treatment of the head and tail, and overall manufacturing quality, this piece can be confidently attributed to Teghini Firenze, a Florentine workshop known for producing silver-plated animal-shaped serving ware during the second half of the 20th century (circa 1960s–1980s). Comparable duck-shaped serving dishes by Teghini Firenze are well documented in the vintage and auction market and closely match this example in form and execution.
The item is unmarked, which is consistent with a number of Teghini Firenze silver-plated pieces, particularly those produced for export.
Characteristics:
• Refined animalier duck sculpture
• Big integrated recessed serving area
• Heavy, high-quality construction
• Typical Florentine silver-plated tableware design
Material: Silver-plated metal
Maker: Teghini Firenze (attributed)
Origin: Florence, Italy
Period: Second half of the 20th century
Condition:
Good vintage condition. The piece shows signs of wear consistent with age and careful use, including light surface marks and a natural patina. These traces are typical for a vintage object that has been in use but well maintained. No structural damage or repairs observed.
A highly decorative and collectible Italian silver-plated object by one of Florence’s well-known mid-20th-century silverware workshops.
