Description from the seller

Oil on board, 70 x 53 cm. Signed at the bottom right. The work is numbered 395. The frame is not included in the sale but is sent as a gift.

Daniel González Poblete was born in Ciudad Real in 1944. Passionate about painting from a very young age, he began his artistic journey as a copyist at the Museo del Prado at the age of fifteen. Considered by some as one of the most important painters of the last 50 years, the realism and hyperrealism of his works mark a significant era in the history of Spanish painting.

Meticulous detailer, Poblete is not satisfied with the everyday and real but transfers all his imaginative power onto the canvas. In his still life painting, it seems he plays with reality and paints as he pleases, surpassing the representational and transporting us to the ephemeral of the natural, where a magical world of drops, melted paper, and stitches with thread make us wonder, who would think of sewing an apple?

Showcase of technique, incredible use of texture in painting, and master of transparencies and reflections, this artist's sensitivity, precision, and brush control are truly impressive. The light in his paintings reaches directly to the soul.
