Description from the seller

Crystal wine glasses signed Artisan de Lorraine, Gérard model.

Diameter of the opening 7.5 cm.
Height 18 cm

A bit of history: The crystal
During the Renaissance, all the glassmakers of the world wanted to compete with Venetian glass.
An English craftsman, George Ravenscroft, in 1673, by chance added lead oxide to the paste to facilitate melting. The glass thus produced exhibited remarkable hardness, brilliance, sound, and stability.
The first French crystal was created in 1781 at the St Louis glassworks in Lorraine, and Louis XV granted it the title of royal glassworks.
Then, the Baccarat crystal factory, the Royal Crystal Factory of Champagne, and many others were established.
