Description from the seller

Antique wooden chair with hand-carved floral backrest – Germany/Austria, late 19th century

A beautiful antique wooden chair from the late 19th century, made of solid wood and featuring a richly hand-carved backrest with floral decoration. The chair is representative of bourgeois furniture culture from Central Europe (Germany / Austria), with influences from the late Biedermeier period and early Jugendstil.
The backrest features an elegant, flowing silhouette and is decorated with carefully crafted flower and line motifs. The front legs are turned, while the rear legs are slightly curved, creating a harmonious and classic overall appearance. The seat is solid and shows honest signs of use, appropriate for its age.
The chair is in its original, unrestored condition and has a warm, well-worn patina. There are no visible modern modifications or restorations. Structurally, the chair is stable.
A decorative and authentic piece of furniture, suitable for use in a classic or country interior, or as a characterful accent chair.
