BRIGA, an Italian contemporary artist, presents an original acrylic painting titled “STAY CLOSE TO” (2025), 100 x 120 cm, hand-signed, in excellent condition, origin Italy, Originale edition, weight about 1 kg, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
In Stay Close To, BRIGA constructs a scene that is only apparently naive: three anthropomorphic feline figures, close to each other under a large red umbrella, face a heavy rain that becomes a metaphor for an unstable and unpredictable external world. The simple bodies, wide-eyed gazes, and the gesture of 'staying close' tell of a fundamental need for protection, belonging, and emotional sharing.
The naive and pop aesthetic, made up of saturated colors and vibrant fills, conceals a deeper tension: the childhood evoked is not reassuring but fragile, suspended between play and unease. The phrase 'Stay Close To', drawn as a direct and instinctive mark, offers no explanations but amplifies the meaning of the work, transforming into an open invitation: to stay close to others, or perhaps to oneself, in the face of difficulties.
The painterly material remains visible and deliberately imperfect, in line with BRIGA's poetics, which rejects a polished aesthetic in favor of authentic and immediate expression. The colors – warm yellows, blues, intense reds – create an emotional environment more than a real space, engaging with the language of street art and contemporary naive art.
BRIGA is a contemporary visual artist trained at the Atelier Verrilli under the guidance of Igor Verrilli. Her research stems from the encounter between instinctive painting, pop imagery, and an ironic reflection on the emotional fragility of the human being. Her works, populated by anthropomorphic animals and recurring symbols, tell the story of the conflict between fear and lightness, control and chaos, reality and play.
A work that strikes with immediate visual impact and emotional depth, capable of speaking with a simple but universal language, leaving the viewer an open space for interpretation.
To ensure maximum protection during transport, the artwork is shipped either rolled or laid flat, inside secure and professional packaging, complete with a photograph authenticated by the artist. It is recommended to unroll it as soon as received to best preserve its integrity.
The ambient image is intended to provide a clearer view of the visual effect that the artwork can have in a real space, highlighting its expressive strength and aesthetic balance.
Each piece by the artist is a unique work, entirely hand-painted, created exclusively with the highest quality materials carefully selected.
