European iron wall sconce from circa 1960–1970, 80 cm long and 16.5 cm at the upper side, with a robust metal body and originally four glass panels (one replaced by a discreet plexiglass panel), in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Circa 1960 European Wall Sconce
The fixture features a strong, linear silhouette with a substantial and reassuring weight, reflecting its robust construction. Originally fitted with four glass panels, one of these has been replaced with a plexiglass panel offering enhanced transparency. The plexiglass replacement is discreet and barely perceptible, as it is positioned on the wall-facing side, while the three remaining panels are original glass, preserving the overall visual integrity of the piece. The light diffuses evenly, creating a refined and atmospheric effect.
Manufactured in Europe around the 1960s, this wall sconce showcases solid craftsmanship and durable materials, most likely a metal structure combined with a translucent panel. It measures approximately 80 cm (31.5 inches) in length and 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) on the upper side, giving it an elegant elongated proportion ideal for hallways, staircases, or feature walls.
The condition is good overall, with some light traces of wear consistent with age and use, which add to its authentic vintage character. Due to its significant weight, secure wall mounting is recommended. A desirable and increasingly collectible lighting piece for lovers of mid-century modern and architectural design.
Note: No original maker’s mark has been identified.
