Studio Yann Gandon - Chair - Aluminium - Slide Chair Prototype

The Slide Chair repurposes offcuts from aluminum curtain rails, transforming their industrial profile into a precise and functional seating element. By bending and reshaping the extruded form, the design highlights the rail’s unique geometry—merging structure and comfort in a minimal silhouette. Designed in Copenhagen and made from aluminum containing 76% recycled content. The prototype was presented in a fair in Sweden and was featured in different magazines like Elle Decoration Japan. As a prototype, the piece shows some light surface marks and produces a small creaking noise from the assembly, though it remains fully stable and structurally strong. This makes it a special opportunity to own a singular, early-stage piece that won’t exist in the same form again. — Details Technique: Precision-cut and manually bent aluminum extrusion Material: Curtain rail offcuts (76% recycled aluminum) Finish: Yellow Spray Painted Place of manufacture: Copenhagen, Denmark Design: Studio Yann Gandon About Studio Yann Gandon Founded in 2020, Studio Yann Gandon is led by French self-taught designer and woodworker Yann Gandon.
