The wooden handle bears a burned maker’s stamp reading “Katsugorō Kansei” (勝五郎鑑製).
Additionally, there is a handwritten note in pen by the previous owner on the handle:
“特調用” (for special/custom use).
Yanagiba (center)
Blade is clearly marked with:
“Sakai Registered Trademark – Masashige Saku (堺 登録商標 正重作)”
and
“Yasuki Steel – Hon-Tanren (安来鋼 本鍛錬)”, indicating high-quality traditional steel and forging.
The handle also bears a burned stamp reading “Sakai Registered Masashige Saku” (堺登録 正重作).
Small knife (right)
Signed “Kiyotsuna Saku (清綱作)”.
The handle retains its original label reading:
“Handmade – Honba-tsuki” (手造り 本刃付き), indicating traditional hand-forging and finishing.
