Lovely Chinese porcelain Encre de Chine tea caddy, made in Jingdezhen during the Yongzheng (1723–1735) to Qianlong (1736–1795) period. The vessel is decorated with both underglaze blue and overglaze enamels. The decoration is arranged in two main cartouches, surrounded by smaller ones featuring landscapes and flowers. One of the main cartouches depicts a seated man and lady, while the other depicts a lady with two boys. The silver mounting is an early 20th century Dutch addition. Condition: good, apart from a short, clean and hardly visible short hairline crack and small piece of the relief decoration around the foot missing (indicated in the photographs).
