Tea caddy/ box - Porcelain - Qing (1644-1911)
Unusually shaped Chinese blue and white porcelain tea caddy, made in Jingdezhen during the 18th or 19th century. The vessel is decorated with a Chilong (mythical dragon) amoung clouds. The marked silver mounting is a later Dutch addition, dating to the early 20th century.
Condition: perfect, what might appear to be a 'chip' at the footring is actually a backing flaw that is glazed (see the photographs).
Origin: private Dutch collection
Dimensions: 13,4 cm (height) x 7,1 (ø foot) cm
