AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Overview/Conditions
Splendid specimen of the Citroen Traction 11 BL from 1956.
Car restored 15 years ago by Vaccaro body shop in Calusco d'Adda, Bergamo province.
The car comes from a private collection and has been stationary for years indoors under a cover, so the paint has remained in very good condition. It is only noted that there is a small scratch (the garage wall) on the rear left fender. Otherwise, since the car has been completely repainted, no other damages or scratches are reported.

There is not even any rust since the car has always been kept in a climate-controlled environment. The floors have no holes or traces of rust, and there are no patches under the bodywork. Given the type of car and the entirely collector's use by the previous owner, the car has not suffered any accidents, damages, or further repairs after the restoration.

The glass seals are new and in excellent condition, as they were also part of the restoration. The door seals are also new and function perfectly. The glazing is sound, and the glasses open and close correctly. The bumpers have no cracks or defects, just like all the external chromes. The door sills are intact, and the cuts on the doors show no rust. Even under the mats, the car appears healthy and without repairs.

Regarding the engine, it is evident that it has also received attention during the restoration process. The condition of the air filter and spark plugs demonstrates the excellent state of preservation of the vehicle. We only had the radiator renewed, all fluids replaced, the tank cleaned, and the battery replaced, and now the engine runs like clockwork and the car starts with half a turn of the key. The car was also tested on the road, and the brakes showed no issues. The car brakes very well. There are no leaks. The gear shifts are smooth and engage well, and the clutch is also in good condition. Although the tires are new and the car brakes very effectively, we recommend a check of the brake pump and a tire change before regular road use.

Inside, the car is completely in line with the original. The upholstery is in excellent condition. The seat fabric has no tears or signs of wear, and the seats are still solid. The door panels are intact, and the headliner is practically new. The dashboard is in perfect condition, as are all the interior buttons and levers. The interior light works, as does the button on the dashboard to operate it. The instrument cluster functions properly. Even under the floor mats, the car appears to be entirely sound. The car has undergone a full restoration, so nearly all components have been replaced or renewed.

The car has an ASI third-degree gold plate, as proof of its originality.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
