(American Waltham Watch Company), Waltham, Mass., USA, a highly respected American manufacturer. Movement: Mechanical, hand-wound Dial: Original white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock Hands: Original blued steel hands Case: Gold-filled case, marked “Guaranteed to be made of two plates of gold with plate of composition between and to wear 20 years” Case maker: Fahys Case diameter: approx. 35 mm (excluding crown) Serial numbers: Case and movement numbers visible (see photos) Crystal: Glass Origin: United States Period: Early 20th century The watch features a hinged front (hunter-style) case and a clean, legible dial. The movement is signed Waltham Watch Co. and shows fine finishing typical of the brand. The case presents honest age-related wear and surface scratches consistent with use, adding to its antique character. Condition: The watch winds and runs at the time of listing, but accuracy and power reserve have not been tested over a prolonged period.
