Pair of antique Rococo‑style candelabra in technical zinc from France, circa 1900, each 45 cm high with a 16 × 16 cm square base; in acceptable condition with possible missing minor parts.
Description from the seller
This elegant pair of 19th-century chandeliers is made of gilded metal, probably bronze, and features rich ornamentation inspired by the Rococo / Louis XVI style. Each piece stands on a square base with decorated legs, and at the bottom, a relief medallion depicts a female figure in profile, framed by garlands and classical motifs that evoke French neoclassical aesthetics.
The bases are decorated with acanthus reliefs, ribbons, and architectural elements that reflect the refined and symmetrical taste characteristic of the reign of Louis XVI. Although they lack the upper part — probably the candlestick arms or finials — and one of them needs to be straightened, the set retains its original structure and much of its decorative appeal.
These pieces were conceived to embellish aristocratic or bourgeois interiors, and today they retain their value as collectible objects, both for their artistic quality and for their fidelity to the ornamental language of the eighteenth century reinterpreted in the nineteenth. Their restoration would be straightforward and would fully restore their function and splendor.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
