A face between dream and reality

The work immediately strikes with the contrast between the natural landscape and the almost mythological figure emerging on the right. The face, rendered with stylized and bold strokes, seems almost transparent, as if it were a spirit or a thought floating above the scenery. The eyes, large and dreamy, do not look at the viewer but appear fixed on a distant vision, while the hair transforms into elegant black arabesques, swirls of smoke or dancing branches moved by an invisible wind.

In the background, the artist painted a village that seems almost to liquefy in the warm earth tones and orange. It is not a realistic view, but a memory of a place:
