AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Very decorative antique wall barometer with a beautiful, deeply carved wooden case. The barometer is designed in a classic style with leaf and shell motifs and makes a real eye-catcher on the wall.

The dial is clearly readable and equipped with Dutch indications such as Storm, Rain, Changeable, Fine weather, and Resilient. At the bottom, the name W.J. Lauwers, optician, Amsterdam, is displayed, indicating Dutch origin. Above the barometer, there is a thermometer with both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales.

The woodwork displays a beautiful, warm patina appropriate for its age. There is a visible damage in the wood on the side of one of the leaves. This damage is clearly visible in the photos. Overall, a charming and authentic object with signs of use that are fitting for an antique piece, which has been glued at some point, as shown in the photos.

A charming collectible item for enthusiasts of antique measuring instruments, rustic interiors, or classic wall decor.
