Description from the seller

A magnificent, large oval centerpiece, a striking decorative piece of exquisite craftsmanship. This fruit bowl, or "corbeille," stands out for its lavish ornamentation and excellent condition, making it ideal for both formal occasions and collecting.
-Origin: Spain.
-Style: Neo-Baroque / Rococo. The design features classic elements of this style: lobed edges, rocaille motifs, shells ("coquilles"), and rich floral and fruit decoration in relief (grapes and flowers).
-Period: ca. 1910-1940. A piece that recaptures the splendor of classical styles.
-Material and Technique: Made of high-quality metal (Brass) with a silver plating, using repoussé and chiseling techniques to achieve the detailed reliefs that adorn the entire perimeter.
-Marks and Hallmarks: It features two clearly visible hallmarks on the smooth center edge:
"M.E.": Silversmith's or manufacturer's mark.
"Met. Silver Plated G": Certifies the material (Silver Plated Metal) and the quality of the plating.
Measurements:
*Length: 35.5 cm
*Width: 26.8 cm
*Height: 7 cm (approx. at the raised edges)
Condition:
*Plating: Excellent. The piece maintains a magnificent silver coating, without loss or wear, preserving an intense and uniform shine across the entire surface.
*Structure: The smooth central base shows slight dents and surface ripples (typical of use and the malleable nature of the metal), which do not affect the stability or the overall aesthetic beauty. The chased edges and reliefs are in perfect condition, without deformation.
*Patina: Shows minimal cleaning marks that attest to its age and authenticity.
This centerpiece is not just a functional object, but a work of art that masterfully captures light thanks to its undulating forms and reliefs. The intricately carved and openwork border, adorned with vine and flower motifs, makes it the focal point of any dining table or sideboard. Its generous size (over 35 cm) makes it perfect for elegant presentations or as a decorative centerpiece.
Why choose this piece? Unlike many antique pieces where the silver plating has worn away, revealing the base metal, this centerpiece stands out for the integrity of its silvering. The subtle marks on the smooth background lend it the character of a piece with history, one that has been part of royal celebrations. It is a robust, generously sized piece, ready to be displayed.
A unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Spanish silverware with all the character of classic style!
