Dear Bidders, I'm offering here a beautiful set of 3 porcelain vases and ashtray designed by Tapio Wirkkala for Rosenthal. These minimalist white porcelain vases were created by renowned Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala for the German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal. Wirkkala (1915-1985) is celebrated for his organic, sculptural approach to form and his ability to merge Nordic simplicity with experimental materials. The collaboration resulted in several important series for Rosenthal, including the famous “Paper Bag” (Tüten-) vase collection. SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS: Rosenthal, founded in 1879 in Selb (Germany), is known for high-quality porcelain and long standing collaborations with leading designers of the 20th century — theirs is a legacy of merging art and industrial design in timeless creations.
