A superb antique salt shaker from the Russian Empire, made of solid silver, gilded and enamelled, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, of exquisite workmanship and steeped in history.
Description
• Item: Empire salt shaker (tableware / silverware)
• Material: solid silver 84 zolotniki (i.e. 875/1000)
• Hallmarks: the '84' hallmark is visible at the bottom.
• Decoration: polychrome enamel with a predominantly green hue, floral motifs and stylized scrolls.
• Technique: enamelled silver, high-quality artisanal craftsmanship
• Origin: Russian Empire, manufactured prior to 1917
