Antique French fireplace screen dating to 1930–1940, bronze with brass blades that fan out, 86 cm wide when opened, 59 cm high, 16 cm deep, weighing about 3.45 kg, in reasonable used condition with possible missing small parts.
Description from the seller
Classical fireplace screen from France, dating from the 20th century. The screen is made of bronze and features brass blades that fan out. For this reason, it is also called a peacock screen.
The beautifully crafted screen is folded to a width of 25cm. When the fans are unfolded, the screen is 86cm wide. The height is 59cm, the depth 16.5cm. The screen weighs approximately 3.5 kilograms.
The fireplace screen is generally in good condition but shows some signs of use. A small part of a decorative ornament has broken off from the base. An original pop rivet—used to attach the blades—has been replaced with a screw. The brass blades are in need of a good cleaning. For a clear impression, please view the photos. The last two photos show the replacement screw and the area where a piece has broken off.
