RETIRED
LEGO 10232 Palace Cinema is an Icons set with 2,196 pieces and 7 minifigs, released in 2013. It features a two-story cinema with a detailed lobby, screen, projector, and seating, plus a black limousine and six minifigures.
The set was officially unveiled at BrickFair, Alabama, by Kevin Hinkle in 2013.
This set was designed by Astrid Graabæk and Jordan Schwartz, who have their names on one of the advertising boards, but somewhat 'frozen' as Astrid Greybrick and Jordan Montelegone.
It was inspired by Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.
LEGO VIP members received exclusive early access to the set from February 14, 2013, nearly two weeks before the general public.
The Palace Cinema may not have the same play value as some other modular sets, but it features one of the most impressive front designs of any LEGO building ever! When you see the model for the first time, there's no doubt what it is—and it always earns an 'ooh' the first time someone sees it (even if they usually don't like LEGO or other toys). This is a must-have in my book and highly recommended!
