Philips brand car radio, model listed as Inconnu, a vintage 1940s‑50s pocket/minidash unit designed for dashboard mounting, made in Holland with a MW band from 200 to 2000 meters, non‑tested electrically and in a patinated silver metal case with original knobs and a perforated grille, measuring about 12.5 cm wide, 8.5 cm high and 25 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Philips compact car radio from the late 1940s / early 1950s, designed for under-dash mounting (“pocket” format or mini-dash typical of the post-war era).
Made in the Netherlands ('Made in Holland' on the plate), MW frequency scale only (200 to 2000 m), standard for European models of the period.
Details of the brochure (visible in the photos):
- TYPE : NX 572 V / NX 57212
- No.: E 83103 E00
- Made in Holland
- Other markings: inspection stamps, etc.
Visible features:
- Patinated silver metal housing, perforated fine-mesh protective grille (well preserved).
- Brown/beige illuminated scale with meter graduations.
- Original cream-colored knobs (volume / tuning).
- Compact format adapted to classic cars (VW Beetle, early Porsche 356, Ford Taunus, Opel, etc.).
- Likely 6V or 12V power supply (the classic internal vibrator of tube car radios).
Dimensions :
- Depth: 25 cm
- Height: ≈ 8.5 cm
- Width: ≈ 12.5 cm
State:
Vintage original condition, unrestored.
Not electrically tested (wiring and tubes are old – for safety reasons).
Case with a natural patina, normal signs of use (light oxidation, superficial scratches, dust accumulation).
Grille intact, original buttons, legible scale.
No major damage (no breakage, no rust-through).
Collector's item for enthusiasts of vintage car radios, classic cars, or electronics museums. Philips was a leader in tube car radios in the 1940s-1950s.
Photos are true to life (complete brochure, grid, knobs, scale, all angles) – sold as is, with no testing or restoration.
Reinforced packaging and highly secure shipping mandatory (fragile item with internal components).
Great opportunity for an authentic and rare Philips car radio from the early days of car radio!
