An oval carved and gilt wooden frame of Italian origin dating to 1850–1900, in the Rococo‑style Antico, with external 71 × 61 cm and internal 51 × 41 cm, depth 5 cm, in good condition with normal signs of age.
Description from the seller
Oval wooden frame carved and gilded, of Italian manufacture, dating to the second half of the 19th century. An example of great decorative elegance, characterized by rich pierced carving with plant-like volutes and leafy motifs in a fully nineteenth-century taste, with deep and well-defined workmanship that gives the frame a notable three-dimensionality.
The gilding, applied over a traditional preparatory base, presents a warm, lived-in patina, with slight wear and points of natural use consistent with its age, which confirm the piece’s authenticity and enhance its historical charm. The inner profile is enriched by a continuous decorative band that harmoniously frames the central housing, making the frame particularly suitable for portraits, miniatures, prints, and religious or secular subjects in an oval format.
Ideal item for classic settings and historic homes, perfect both as a frame to use and as a decorative wall element to enhance paneling, period wallpaper, or to pair with other antique frames. Overall good condition, with normal signs of aging compatible with its dating and without obvious structural damage.
Proper packaging and traceable shipping across Europe.
