Amsterdam tail clock, a dark oak (eik) wall clock from the Netherlands dating to 1965–1985, with an 8‑day Wuba/Warmink mechanical movement, Westminster quarter chime and hourly strike, three weights and pendulum, and a hand‑painted dial with a Frisian village scene and moon phase.
Description from the seller
High-quality Amsterdam tail clock, made in the Netherlands, from the second half of the 20th century.
Fitted with a mechanical 8-day Wuba/Warmink movement featuring Westminster quarter chime and hour strike (double striking).
The clock is complete and in very good working condition, with:
Three original weights and pendulum
Hand-painted dial with Frisian village scene and moon phase
Side sound openings for enhanced resonance
Dark oak case with copper ornaments and sculptural figures
The Westminster melody plays progressively every quarter hour and fully on the hour, followed by the hour strike.
The clock runs well and is ready for use.
Dimensions (incl. Atlas): approx. 115 × 27.5 × 17 cm
Total weight: approx. 17 kg
Collection preferred due to size and fragility.
The clock is crowned by an Atlas figure holding a celestial globe, flanked by matching figures — a traditional symbol of the cosmic order and the passage of time, in harmony with the moon phase display and the Westminster chime.
