Mercury about to kill Argus: Figure in Bisquit porcelain from Bing & Grondahl, Denmark. Created by the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770-1844), after a statue modeled in Rome in 1818. This reproduced version was produced at the factory around 1950. Factory first quality production. Factory mark on the backside of the base. Dimensions: 15.6 cm high, 5.7 cm deep and 6 cm wide. The bust, also made in Bisquit porcelain, is called Eros from Centocelle. Artist unknown. Not factory marked, but also presumed to have been produced in the mid-20th century. Both in good condition without damage or repairs. This figure is 19 cm high, 5.5 cm deep and 11.5 cm wide.
