Refined 19th‑century Russian silver‑gilt goblet with vermeil interior and finely engraved floral and niellated decoration, in good condition with minor signs of wear, measuring 6 × 4.5 × 3 cm and weighing 44 g, bearing 84 zolotniki (.875) silver marks and Imperial Russian control marks dating before 1917.
Description from the seller
Elegant Russian cup in gilded silver, finely engraved and niellated, dating from the 19th century.
The glass features a rich, continuous floral decoration, engraved with great precision, depicting large flowers and stylized foliage on a finely worked background. The decoration is framed by elegant geometric bands incised at the top and bottom, typical of the Russian goldsmithing tradition.
The interior is completely gold-plated (vermeil), a solution used both for aesthetic reasons and to protect the silver from contact with liquids.
The original gilding is well preserved, with normal signs of wear consistent with its age.
At the bottom there are clearly visible Russian punches, including:
fineness "84" zolotniks, corresponding to 875/1000 silver.
Russian imperial control mark (with symbol and numbering), used before the Soviet reform.
These punches confirm production in the Tsarist era, prior to 1917.
An authentic piece with great historical charm, ideal for collectors of Russian silver, antique tableware, or decorative art from the Russian Empire.
Condition: good, with original patina and slight signs of wear that attest to its authenticity (see photographs).
Dimensions: 6 cm x 4.5 cm x 3 cm. Weight: 44 g.
