René Couturier is a French artist renowned for his abstract and expressive works, blending textures and colors with great intensity. He has developed a unique technique by layering sand and oil paint, worked with a palette knife, creating vibrant and dynamic compositions.
His work is part of the Young Painting movement, with a preference for strong contrasts between texture, color, and line. He exhibited in numerous salons in France between 1958 and 1968, and then internationally: United States, Mexico, Africa, Canada, the Netherlands, and of course in France.
