A Pentacon Six body (with an error) in good physical condition and not tested for functionality, serial number 9743, for 120/220 film, dating to 1950–1960; the shutter and mirror mechanism show faults causing the mirror not to stay down and the shutter to fire only after a manual nudge.
Description from the seller
A nice, partly working Pentacon Six camera with a waist-level finder.
Serial number body: 9743 (this number can be found by opening the film spine and is located along the left side)
Furthermore, it can be found that this early serial number refers to the production year 1959.
The problem with this camera is as follows: when the shutter is cocked, the mirror flips down but does not stay down. The mirror comes back up and stays roughly halfway, as does the cocking lever. Then you push the cocking lever back to its original position.
When you attempt to expose it, you hear a click inside the camera, but nothing happens. If you then manually nudge the mirror a small amount upward, the shutter fires at the set time.
In other words, all the timings run correctly but won’t turn off until the mirror has received a nudge.
So, this camera needs some work. Probably the old original grease has hardened or darkened, and there’s some kind of small latch or hook inside that’s stuck because of the old lubricant that normally holds the mirror in place when the shutter is cocked.
This beautiful set will be packed with care and dedication and shipped with a Track & Trace number and insurance.
NOTE: I always ship my goods with a Track & Trace number and insurance, to guard against potential damage and theft.
Please note that shipping costs may therefore be slightly more expensive.
Anyone who cannot agree with this is also kindly asked not to place any bids.
Thank you in advance.
