From: Dr. Slump (1981–1986) This piece is an authentic original one-of-a-kind Japanese animation cel, hand-painted by studio artists at Toei Animation and used directly in the creation of the anime Dr. Slump. As an original production material, this artwork is unique, with no duplicates in existence. Created for internal studio use under the direction of Toei Animation during the original broadcast production period of Dr. Slump (1981–1986). A Certificate of Authenticity will be included with your purchase. This original animation cel features Arale, the beloved and iconic protagonist of Dr. Slump, captured in her instantly recognizable design style that helped define early 1980s anime comedy. Original cels from Dr. Slump are especially sought after due to the series’ historical importance and the rarity of surviving hand-painted materials from this era. This item is presented interleaved with MicroChamber paper, an archival material used to protect artwork by reducing harmful acids and paint fumes which can damage animation cels over time. We are currently the only seller in Japan offering anime cels presented this way. Please note that this is a vintage item.
