Paesaggio, a 19th‑century oil painting from the United States by Carl Brennir, sold with the frame.
Description from the seller
A rediscovered masterpiece: The painter Carl Brennir (sometimes cited as Carl Brenner) was born in Lauterecken, Bavaria (Germany) in 1838, before emigrating with his family to the United States, where he lived and worked, mainly in Louisville, Kentucky, and died in 1888.
Coming from a family inheritance, this extraordinary oil painting on canvas is ready to find a new home. Bought by my father a long time ago, it is a work that catches the eye and enchants the spirit. It is a timeless canvas of art. Created in the 1800s, this painting expresses the spirit of an era and at the same time preserves a freshness and vitality that keep it current. The unmistakable style, the dimensions—only the canvas are about 40x66 cm (without frame)—and the artist's signature in the bottom left attest to its authenticity and importance.
A unique piece; a versatile work that fits into any environment, giving it a sophisticated and refined atmosphere. Its majesty and beauty make it a focal point in any room, adding a touch of elegance and prestige.
It’s the details that make the difference. The frame, not contemporary, is wooden and slim with a pronounced edge, and despite this it gives the painting a unique and authentic charm.
The painting on the back bears a description on the canvas where, among them all, the last one shows London, which attests to its originality and the date of creation. A genre painter, with river landscapes and bucolic scenes such as rivers, fishermen, and rural scenes. The works documented, for example by Sotheby’s, indicate a certain notoriety in the art market. The painting is in overall good condition, and there may be microscopic signs of time and its original patina, which underscore its authenticity and its history.
An investment for the future, not only to enrich your own art collection but also to invest for the future. Quality artworks, especially those by established artists, tend to appreciate over time.
The shipment will be sent via a well-known, tracked and insured courier, while the packaging will be done professionally.
The visible frame in the photo is included as a courtesy and is not an integral part of the artwork. Any damage to the frame will not be grounds for claims or order cancellations.
