Vicus culture ceramic whistle bottle with a pontoon handle, depicting a kneeling figure with a conical headdress, 19 cm high, 17 cm deep and 11.6 cm wide, dating to 100 BCE–400 CE, in good condition with minor chips and wear to the left ear, acquired from Arcadia Amiens auction (lot 40) in 2006 and from a Strasbourg private collection.
Description from the seller
Anthropomorphic whistling bottle with a handle-bridge.
It depicts a kneeling figure wearing a conical headdress. The eyes are represented as 'coffee grains'. The head is symbolically directed towards the ground, the left arm is folded over the stomach, and the right arm is resting on the cheek. The back of the head, pierced with six holes to allow the whistle's air to escape, is connected to the cylindrical neck by a flat bridge handle.

Dimensions: 19 x 17 x 11.6 cm
Weight: 800 g
Condition: a few small chips, wears on the left earring.
