Description from the seller
In June 2004, Pioneer announced a new line of DVD recorders, the DVR-220/DVR-320 (base models) and the DVR-720H and DVR-520H models with built-in hard drives, offering consumers the new generation of DVD technology, as well as a huge storage capacity for television programs, movies, and recordings from digital cameras.
These DVD players/recorders offer hard drive capacities of 160 GB (DVR-720H) and 80 GB (DVR-520H), capable of storing an impressive 200 and 100 hours of video, respectively. They also offer a copying feature with speeds up to 48 times faster, allowing the footage stored on the hard drive to be copied to DVD up to 48 times real-time faster, with no loss of quality. It is also possible to watch the beginning of a recorded program while simultaneously recording the end – perfect for those who miss the first ten minutes of the game or arrive home midway through their favorite show.

The device has been tested and works well. However, I couldn't test the recording function because I don't have DVD-R discs.
