Industrial design pulley from the Netherlands, made of iron and oak, dating from 1850–1900, measuring 27 cm high, 19 cm wide, 16 cm deep and weighing 5 kg, in good condition with light signs of age and stains.
Description from the seller
Very nice, large, and decorative pulley. This industrial pulley is probably from the port of Rotterdam. The pulley likely dates from the latter half of the 19th century and is 27 cm high, 19 cm wide, 16 cm deep, and weighs about 65 kg. The pulley has been fitted with a rope. The grooves through which the rope ran are still clearly visible (see photos). A new rope can easily be fitted.
The pulley is still 100% original and looks as if it was taken from an old harbor scene. In any interior, this harbor tool is a very decorative item and conversation piece, but it can also be used to hang kitchen utensils, or as a coat rack, or a lamp.
The pulley has a very beautiful wood grain. The wood is very well preserved because it has been regularly treated with wax. The pulley has two wooden rollers that still rotate smoothly around their axis. You could still use the tool as is.
Although the pulley may be about 150 years old, you could still hoist heavy loads with it. It is still 100% functional and all the connecting hardware, such as the center bolt and the rivets, are still original (see photos).
This pulley is a very beautiful decorative object, but it can also be used to hang a lamp or another item. It could even still be used as a pulley! This industrial heritage piece is definitely a conversation starter!
The pulley is expertly packed and shipped insured.
